Jess Green is based on Long Island and hails from Montreal, Canada.

Design Credentials? BA in Interior Design from The International Academy of Design & Technology in Toronto, Ontario. Healthcare design for Toronto-based Parkin Architects. Residential design for the legendary Manhattan-based Jeffrey Bilhuber of Bilhuber & Associates.

When She’s Not Designing? You can find her on any beach, in the garden, on the tennis court, getting lost in a foreign city or at home in Locust Valley with her husband, two girls, two dogs, two birds, two chickens and one on-going old house project.

Must-Have in Every Home? Exquisite drapery and a skirted console.

Favorite Designer? Katie Ridder.

Secret Passion? Antique cars and private boats.

What You’ll Find on My Coffee Table? The English Garden at Night by Linda Rutenberg, a travel guide to my next destination, and a coral vase designed in Prague by Jakub Jandourek.

Favorite Place to Find Inspiration? Instagram and traveling.

Most Valuable Skill? Listening and executing.

The essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live. It is about the realities of what makes for an attractive, civilized, meaningful environment, not about fashion or what’s in or what’s out. This is not an easy job.
